PRIVATE LESSON FACULTY: DRUMS/PERCUSSION

CLARK (YongHak) LEE (percussion) joined the Music Spectrum Faculty in 2021. He has been playing the drums for more than 20 years and has over 17 years of teaching experience. In his native South Korea, he worked with and recorded with many famous artists such as Myung Shik Kang, Yohan Choi, Eun Joo Jeon, Do Hyun, the 26th Division Militar

CLARK (YongHak) LEE (percussion) joined the Music Spectrum Faculty in 2021. He has been playing the drums for more than 20 years and has over 17 years of teaching experience. In his native South Korea, he worked with and recorded with many famous artists such as Myung Shik Kang, Yohan Choi, Eun Joo Jeon, Do Hyun, the 26th Division Military Band, Anointing, Bridge Builders, and Cornerstones.  He has a passion for music education as well as performance. He has published three books on percussion technique and taught hundreds of students in seminars and lectures both in Korea and since immigrating to the US in 2016. He is currently the director of the Open Door Presbyterian Church (ODPC) Band Academy, a music program that operates with 20 musicians and 100 students every year. He performs regularly at both ODPC and Korean Central Presbyterian Churches. He previously ran the New York Music Institute. At home, Clark also enjoys passing on the drumming legacy to his 11 year old son and eight year old twins.

$57/30-minutes; $83/45-minutes; $106/hour

KEVIN VAN HALL (guitar, bass, drumset)

is a Fairfax County Public Schools specialist in teaching fine arts. He has a Master’s in Education in curriculum development, with an emphasis on creating custom learning approaches for every student. Mr. VanHall has over 20 years of experience playing and teaching acoustic and electric guitar, bass 

KEVIN VAN HALL (guitar, bass, drumset)

is a Fairfax County Public Schools specialist in teaching fine arts. He has a Master’s in Education in curriculum development, with an emphasis on creating custom learning approaches for every student. Mr. VanHall has over 20 years of experience playing and teaching acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar and drums and he joined the Music Spectrum faculty in 2014.

For many years, Mr. VanHall worked as a professional musician, writing, recording and playing original music. He has opened for multiple well-known bands and was a featured artist at large concert events put on by major rock radio syndicates.  His studio credits include a 2008 independent album release. Currently, Mr. Van Hall is most focused on teaching and inspiring the next generation of musicians interested in guitar, bass, and drums.
